What is EMDR Therapy
EMDR therapy (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is an evidence-based psychotherapy used to help people process traumatic or distressing memories. It works by using bilateral stimulation—such as guided eye movements—to help the brain reprocess memories so they no longer trigger intense emotional reactions. EMDR is commonly used to treat PTSD, anxiety, and trauma-related conditions and does not require detailed verbal recounting of the trauma.
